Our goal is to make the implementation process as quick and efficient as possible so you can start enjoying the benefits of Updater Pro Onboarding! On average, the implementation process takes 2-3 weeks from kickoff to launch.
While every implementation is unique, you can typically expect to work through 5 key implementation steps with the support of your implementation manager:
Step 1: Kickoff call
The first step is for your key stakeholders to attend an implementation kickoff call with Updater to confirm the process & timeline. Check out these Questions to Answer to help you prepare for this critical call
Step 2: Set up Property Management System Integration
The next step to a successful implementation is to correctly configure your PMS integration to ensure critical move-in information properly flows into Updater.
Step 3: Send upcoming training announcements
Updater is designed to be extremely easy to configure and use, as such attending a training session or reviewing training content shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes. To help you announce the required training, we’ve created email templates for each training type, including an exciting product teaser and the training registration link.
- Register for configuration training
- Audience: Admin-level roles
- Register for resident management training
- Audience: Onsite teams
Step 4: Admins complete community configurations
For each task an Admin turns on, there are three configuration points:
- Is this task required to move in?
- Is there a link a resident needs to complete the task?
- Are there specific instructions the resident needs to complete this task?
Step 5: Onsite teams complete resident management training
Leasing teams will learn how to manage residents in Updater and keep moves on track. Teams will receive instructions on:
- How to find a resident in the Updater dashboard
- How to set move-in costs
- How to send a welcome letter
- How to send a task reminder
- How to approve or reject resident task submissions
